A Bit About Me
My name is Lojain Abu Naser, I am a Creative Industries graduate from Canadian University Dubai with four years of experience in collaboration and creativity, such as working alongside start-up companies to improve brand image and story-telling in various campaigns.
I am Palestinian-Canadian and grew up in Dubai, UAE for the majority of my childhood. My love for the arts began when I was nine years old. I would draw my favourite cartoon characters, shoot and edit short films, and make small little charms out of polymer clay. Ever since then, my interests in the arts have grown and diversified.
When I turned thirteen, I moved to a small town in Ontario, Canada, and lived there for five years. Living in Canada and visiting Toronto opened my eyes to different creative ideas and people. After studying at Ryerson University (also for creative industries) for a year, I moved back to Dubai to continue my undergraduate studies. Currently, I make designs for products on RedBubble, a print-on-demand online store under the name “lojains.” I am also interning at Pinocchio World in Dubai Mall, showcasing proficiency in communication, leadership, and problem-solving.

In the future, I want to create things for people so they can be happy and included in the world, whether that be making a show, a film, or a product. Currently, I have been loving the process of creating 2D animations on my iPad and learning how to master new programs like Adobe Photoshop. I love creating because it is so rewarding to have a final product after working on it for so long. I have so many interests in the arts, and I hope to create videos and drawings that can spark joy in more people in the future!
My Key Insights:
1) Trying out a new skill or activity is what makes life more entertaining! Even if it is challenging, working on it every day will only make you better.
2) Instead of giving up on doing something, step away from it and keep your mind busy with something else. You might come back to it with a new perspective and more self-motivation!

3) Test your ideas out even if you don’t think they are the best. They might turn out to be one of the best ideas you’ve ever had. There is no harm to it.
4) Doodling while you are actively listening to a lecture or a meeting is one of my favourite things to do. Most of my ideas have come from my random doodles!

Project - Events Co-ordinator

Worked with a team of 10 to brainstorm ideas on how to create awareness for different issues around the world in school.

Designed pamphlets and posters about different issues with calls-to-action that caught the attention of students when they walked down the hallways of the school.
